The symbol of Chinese culture in my mind
Our Chinese culture is profound and extensive and there are so many impressive symbols.They can be ancient,such as the Terry Cotta Warriors and they can be magic,for example,the Chinese Dragon.They can be artistic,just like the Chinese painting and calligraphy.They also can be breath-taking,such as the wingding Great Wall.
However,the real symbol of Chinese culture in my mind is Confucius.
Because it is Confucius who has reined the spiritual life of our Chinese people for over 2,000 years and taught us some unique and precious characteristics such as frugality in household managing,respect for teachers and education,and kindheartedness.We can say that some of the most outstanding features of Chinese culture are shaped by or related to Confucius.To date,the spirit of Confucius is till the backbone of the Chinese culture and tradition.For example,most of the codes of conduct,moral standards and good qualities which we are advocating are first made by Confucius.And,the idea of building a harmonious society is all deeply rooted in the spirit of Confucius.Besides,Confucianism is be becoming more and more popular and respected all over the world.Most people in the world regard Confucius as the leading representative of China and her culture.
Without Confucius,we won’t have so many valuable lofty traditions; our society and nation won’t be so stable,peaceful and prosperous and our culture won’t be so unique and attractive.Thanks to Confucius,we have the shining pearl of Chinese culture in the ocean of history and civilization.
So in my mind,the symbol of Chinese culture should be no others but Confucius.
