A farmer was put in prison(监狱) though he had done nothing wrong.One day he received a letter from his wife.His wife said in the letter “I’m so worried about our farm.It’s nearly time to plant potatoes,but I can’t dig all the fields by myself.”
The farmer read his wife’s letter and then had an idea.He wrote to his wife:“Don’t dig the fields.This is where my gold is buried(埋).Don’t do anything until I tell you.”
Of course,the prison guards(监守) always read the letters which the prisoners wrote or received.A few days later,the farmer received another letter from his wife.It said:“Two days ago,about ten men came and dug all our fields.I can’t understand it.What shall I do now?” :You can plant potatoes now.” the farmer wrote back.
