1.The choice as to which fact to use is based on a theory.
fact是被use,为什么不用to be used,类似的见过好几次了,是和use这个动词有关嘛?
2.This is one of his stock jokes.I have heard it many times.
完成时后面的时间状态多加for,那这里为什么不用for many times?是可以省略嘛?

1.英语中用动词不定式的主动形式表示被动的有好多.
　其中之一,不定式做后置定语的：

I'm hungry,please get me something to eat.
之二,与特殊疑问代词连用,相当于名词性从句
　I don't know what to do next.

之三,一种句式转化而来的.
　It is difficult to learn English well.转化为：English is difficult to learn well.(后面这句也是主动表被动,并且好多句子都可以这样转化的)
　之四,固定搭配,比如blame这个词,都是用主动式表示被动的.
　It's the dirty water that is to blame!（脏水就是罪魁祸首）
2.完成时态后面多用for,前提是for 加时段,而不是时点.这里的many tome是次数,不是时间段,所以不用for.在表示次数的时候,只有表示第一次时,才见for the first time,一般在次数前面不加介词.并且,没有特殊提示的时候,表示到什么什么时间总共多少多少次,一般都用现在完成时.
　　这里一定要搞清楚的是“时段”还是“时点”.楼上所举的例子,last year,last week,不在这个范畴,那是另外的语法项目,相关的说明是这样的,“在指示代词或序数词后面加表时间的名词,此时,不允许在前面加任何介词”.
