why are classic novels not as good as I expected?
I find that so called "classic novels" are not
as good as I expected.for example,War and Peace
by Tolstoy is boring and trivial like women's
stinking shoes.I admit that I don't like it.
but for I major in foreign literature and I
have to study it but it is just waste of time
instead of enjoying them.
I think it's difficult to appreciate classic
novels without knowing its background and
its culture.If you really want to appreciate
them,you just have to know many things about
its country,even you have to stay a quite
long time abroad to emmerse yourself in that
atmosphere so as to understand its subtle
nuance and shades and understand how it is
called great novels.

Actually,even some locals also cannnot have a good understand of those so-called classic novels.
