这样说是错误的!
look up的宾语只能是要查的东西,不能是dictionary.
虽然中文可以说查字典,但是英文不能这么说,只能查单词,不能查字典,也就是说,只能look up the word,不能look up the dictionary.
正确的例句：Look up the word in the dictionary.在字典里查那个单词.
类似的,中文的动词可以带某个宾语,而英文的动词不能带的有：thank、rob等
例如：谢谢你的礼物.不能翻译成：Thank your present.
虽然在中文中,谢谢的宾语可以是礼物,但是在英语中,thank的宾语不能是物,只能是人,所以要翻译成：Thank you for your present.或者Thanks for your present.（这里的Thanks是名词）
同理,rob也是如此,抢我的钱,不能翻译成：rob my money,而要翻译成：rob me of my money.
因为在英语中,rob的宾语只能是人,不能是物.
