丽江古城（或称丽江古镇），位于中国云南省丽江市的旧城区，1997年12月4日时被联合国教科文组织列为世界文化遗产，并于2007年获颁发亚太区文物古迹保护奖。丽江古镇又名大研镇，坐落在丽江坝中部，它是中国历史文化名城中唯一没有城墙的古镇，据说是因为丽江土司（世袭统治者）姓木，筑城势必如木字加框而成「困」字之故。纳西族名称叫「巩本知」，「巩本」为仓廪，「知」即集市，可知丽江古镇曾是仓廪集散之地。被纳入世遗保护范围的除大研古镇外，尚包括白沙、束河等两处民居建筑群。直至2011年：中国世界遗产共有28项文化遗产，8项自然遗产，4项双重遗产，合共40项，而丽江古城是属于文化遗产。
