这里的about后面为什么用him?

1这里两个用法基本相同.但是你好像写错了,应该是could you mind my opening the door.mind 和insist on 后面都加动名词形式.
我是这么理解的：如果不加its,那么默认主语就是he,being written out 可不能用在人身上.而加上,就像是独立主格结构,表意清楚.
2.不是表被动.你可以把句子还原：it was not good enough for him to read by the light.这里表示在灯光下的意思.
3.介词后面用人称代词的宾格形式
