第一个是TPO15中A WARM-BLOODED TURTLE这篇文章,文中我有一个句子不太懂,希望大家指教.Leatherbacks apparently do not generate internal heat the way we do,or the way birds do,as a by-product of cellular metabolism.文中这句话,是说人和鸟的新陈代谢是by-product of cellular metabolism,还是说leatherbacks的是?这个句子的语法我有点晕……还有是TPO15中的MASS EXTINCTIONS这篇,12.What is the purpose of paragraph 7 in the passage?○It proposes a decisive new test of the Alvarez hypothesis.○It presents additional supporting evidence for the Alvarez hypothesis.○It explains why evidence relating to the Alvarez hypothesis is hard to find.○It shows how recent evidence has raised doubts about the Alvarez hypothesis这道题我觉得是选第二个啊,为什么答案选第三个呢?

虽然我觉得有点晚了但还是手痒过来解答一下.
第一个问题、新陈代谢的副产品是人和鸟的特点,而非leatherbacks.因为如果【as a by-product...】这句话是修饰整个句子的时候,它的主语应该与主句的主语保持一致,也就是leatherbacks.但是你很显然不能说leatherbacks是a by product of cellular metablism.这里主语错误并非你所想的"the way leatherbacks produce heat".
相反,如果是仅修饰宾语的成分,那么【as...】这句话的主语就是 the way we produce heat了.
第二个问题.答案错了.
第一个问题、新陈代谢的副产品是人和鸟的特点,而非leatherbacks.因为如果【as a by-product...】这句话是修饰整个句子的时候,它的主语应该与主句的主语保持一致,也就是leatherbacks.但是你很显然不能说leatherbacks是a by product of cellular metablism.这里主语错误并非你所想的"the way leatherbacks produce heat".
