Several days ago,one of my friends sent me a message telling me she was having a big problem.She said:“As a new term has begun,I am as busy as a bee.But somehow I feel I am in a maze and I became perplexed.I do learn lessons,join extracurricular activities,take part time jobs,and prepare for the college English Exams,National Computer Text and even JEST.But I’m not happy and I cannot find interest.I begin to wonder what I am doing now.”I believe her case is common especially for those freshmen and sophomores.Yes,university life is precious and really diversified.We became young adults and begin to make decisions independently.Except for studying as we mostly do in our secondary school,we begin to have many extracurricular activities t perfect us; we take part in various exams to get certain certificate; we begin to do things we like to do,but we are told to do.As for my friend’s experience,I think lots of students have experienced.Her university life is really diversified.It is natural for us to consider her life now is rich and colorful,yet,it is not.She said she was confused.Why?Because she hasn’t found a focus in life so her life is not well balanced.Because under the surface facts,she doesn’t have a definite purpose of her university life.In other words,her life lacks in unity.I’ve gone through over half of the college years.In the past two years,I experienced things and have reflections.I think I am qualified to discuss the issue “unity and diversity in university life”,and I am going to share my thoughts with you.
It is believed college years are essential in starting our career and realizing our value in life.Professor 陈章良,the president of China Agriculture University,once said :“I give special credit for my college years.It was in those years I found the true myself and knew what I was going to do.” Those words tell a universal truth,that is,you must know what you are going to do and what you are doing now.This is the basis of your life.So the very first step you take is to find the answer,to think seriously about your future career,your goal.There is a popular philosophical saying:“without a specific goal,life is like a lonely dugout canoe floating to somewhere you do not know.” Nobody wants to be uncertain of him.One must find a destination.University is the starting line for us as an adult.In university,you must be certain of the course you are going to pursuit,the job you are going to take,like a teacher,a lawyer,a civil servant,a businessman,anything you like.I know it is not easy.

显然,在大学的时光是我们开始我们的生涯实现自我价值的重要时期.中国农业大学的校长,教授陈章良曾说"我给予我大学时光特殊的信任,就是在这些年里我找到了真正的自我,并且明确了我将要做的事情."这些话告诉了我们一个普遍的事实,那就是,我们必须知道我们将要做什么以及现在要做什么.这是我们生活的基础.所以,第一步,你要找到这个答案,认真思考你以后的生涯与目标.有一个非常流行的哲理话:"没有特定的目标.生活就像一直孤单漂浮的独木舟,你不知道将要漂向哪里."没有人想变成不确定的人.必须找到终点.大学是我们作为成人的起跑线.在大学里,你必须确定一个与你将要追逐工作一致的课程,比如说,像老师,律师,国家公仆,商人等等你所喜欢的.我知道这并不难.
