Today it was Sunday, July 19th 2015. My friend Tom and I took a Drum Tower and Hutong tour in Beijing.
The Drum Tower, it isalso a two-storey building; the first floor contains the China Committee forthe Promotion of the Minority Art. The second floor contains the exhibitionarea. Originally, there was one big drum and 24 smaller ones, but only the bigremains. The method of beating it is to beat it quickly for 18 times andthen slowly for 18 times. We climbed onto the tower to have a birds-eye view to admire the entire city.
After Drum visit, we walked to South Gongand Drum Lane (Nanluo GuXiang). There are some more traditional shopsscattered in the lanes, recording a sense of the history of Chinese life.
At Nanluo GuXiang, we both had the most famous Beijing traditional food, Old Beijing noodles with soybean paste.
We both enjoyed the tour.
