I’ve been interested in western culture for years,such as music,sports,literature and so on.So in order to get more information about cultures abroad,I think that English is undoubtedly a necessary tool.That was why I had always been absorbed in English learning.However,this was just my first opinion.
My purpose changed as soon as I realized how great our own culture was.I found I was so ignorant!How could I overlook the land right under my feet?There’s no other civilization that has lasted for such a long period of time and remains its beauty so well.Being proud of this,I determined to devote myself to the spreading of Chinese culture.
I guess there’s little chance for me to be a diplomat or even an ambassador but what about an editor of an English magazine or a teacher teaching foreigners Chinese?Such professions are deeply concerned with cross-culture communication,which is based on the use of foreigne languages.People must be able to speak before they could understand each other,isn’t it?So to me,English is just what I need to master as a preparation for my future career.
Now you can see that,my dream is to somehow to my bit to the extension of Chinese culture,both of traditional and contemporary.
Now I’ve just made the very first step of my journey,yet there’s a great deal ahead for me to accomplish.You see,here I am now,as an English major,talking about my dream,but I do hope that someday in the future,what I’m saying would become what I’ll be doing.And then,I’ll definitely appreciate the dream that I stick to today.
