Hangzhou Subway Fare 2 8 yuan
Route No. 1 of Hangzhou Subway is finally approaching its official opening. Last week the pricing policy was announced on a press release from Hangzhou Subway with cost ranges from 2 yuan to maximum 8 yuan.
At an initial fare of 2 yuan, you can travel for 4 kilometres, then 1 yuan for every 4 kilometres within a distance of 4-12km, every 1 yuan for 6 kilometres within a distance of 12-24km, every 1 yuan for 8 kilometres within a distance of over 24km. That is, the fare range for Hangzhou Subway will be starting from 2 yuan and having an 8 yuan maximum per person. The pricing policy suits for the route 1 as well as all the oncoming routes of Hangzhou Subway.
Concession fare for the following passengers:
1. Retired Party leaders, incapacitated ex-service personnel (including veterans and policemen), personnel with vision impairment and other severe disabilities can travel for free with a valid concession card.
2. Seniors over 70 can travel for free at inter-peak periods and pay half fare at peak hours (7:00am-8:30am and 5:00pm-6:30pm).
3. Senior citizens of Hangzhou between 60-70 pay half fare at all times with a valid seniors card.
4. Children below 1.3m can travel for free if accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket.
5. Primary and High school students and tertiary students pay half fare at all times with a valid student pass.
All seniors over 60 of Chinese nationality can travel at concession fare on Hangzhou Subway.
Following smartcards can be used on the subway:
Smartcards like Citizenship Card and Public Transport IC card can be used on Hangzhou Subway if the application is activated. 9% discount will be offered each time if you pay by card.
Other cards like Z-card for the rental of public bikes and mobile phone citizen card are not accepted on the subway due to technical reasons.
Public Transport IC cards for regular adult (A-card), student concession (B-card), seniors concession (C-card), normal card (D-card), Chengshitong card (T-card), parking card and seniors free travel card can all be used on Hangzhou Subway.
A new smartcard named “Hangzhou Tong” has been released at the beginning of October for all public transport including Hangzhou Subway, buses, taxis, water-buses and public bikes. It is accepted at car parking and designated commercial outlets like convenience stores or restaurants. Hangzhou Tong Cards can be purchased at Longxiangqiao Interchange, major citizen card sales points and all branches of Agricultural Bank and Industrial & Commercial Bank in the city.
Special cards of Hangzhou Tong such as Transport Only card, student concession, seniors concession, disability concession etc. will be released in the future.
Hangzhou Subway Card offer 9% discount
The service provider of Hangzhou Subway is also selling a rechargeable card for passengers to enjoy 9% discount. Be reminded that all these cards including Hangzhou Tong need to be activated for application on Hangzhou Subway first.
After discount, the actual fare for Hangzhou Subway is starting from 1.82 yuan per person to 7.28 yuan maximum. Compared with the pricing system in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, it’s 0.08 yuan cheaper at the starting rate and 0.32 yuan cheaper at the further distance.
