to an extent是在某种程度上或达到某种程度的意思
我觉得意思应该是 低水平的维C摄入和维A在某种程度上与哮喘有关,但是维A的与哮喘关联的程度较小
to a lesser extent 应该不能做形容词,那么副词就是指与哮喘的关联程度
