Recently we have had a heated discussion on whether people should keep pets at home in cities .

Recently we have had a heated discussion on whether people should keep pets at home in cities .For those who are in favor of keeping pets, the reasons are : 1. they help to comfort those single elderlies living alone. 2. Pets can live in harmony with people and pets provide variety to life. 3. Pets like dogs are loyal to their masters.
While those who are against keeping pets, the reasons are : 1. they cause environmental pollution. 2. They generate noise and even wounding people. 3. They consume resources which are valuable to human being in many countries.
My view is that whether it is a matter of necessity or not. If you are old and need something to accompany you and to rely on you, then you can keep a pet. Otherwise , we have many people who need our care and we can spend our kindness in doing volunteer works that helps the community.
