About 20 years ago I went to study in London.I had already been in London for several months and was feeling a lot like a Londoner .I was returning from a theatre one night .When I got on the train at the Covent Garden Station,three American men got on behind me.The train was quite crowded ,but they were eating their food.They even spilled some of their drinks on the floor.They also talked very loudly about visiting the Transit Museum earlier that day.
When the train come to a stop,one of them started shouting ,“GETTING OFF”,and pushed his way towards the door.When they were finally gone,one couple across me began to talk about how rude the American were.They said they would never act that way.
I just looked at them and said in my best American accent ,“Do not worry.We’re not all like that” .They closed their mouths and I quietly continued (继续) ,my trip to the South Ken Stop.
