According to Sanmao, her works were an autobiogaphy. Also, someone may call them novels or journals, while more people would call her works proses. Here I divided all her proses into there phases. First, the phase of rainy-season literature (Sanmao's autistic period from 13 to 22). During this time her work showed sorrow, depression, confusion and vacancy. Second, the phase of desert literature (from her marrige with Hexi till Hexi's death). This was her top years for literacy creation, during which her works showed health, brightness, influency and humour. Third, the phase of late years (the phase of urban literature of jade and ice). Her works in this phase were possessed in the mood of loneliness, desolation, gentleness and dreariness. Sanmao's works show different styles in different phases. We'll analyse the reason for change from her works of all phases and get a more real Sanmao acquainted to you all.
