I was on my way to pick up two of my grand-daughters and take them to church.On the way,I stopped by the shops to pick up a few things.I told my other grand-daughter Michelle (who was already in the car) that we might get wet.She was all for it,with a grin plastered on her face just from the thought of it.
We ran from the car to the shop,screaming as the giant cold drops soaked us to the skin.I almost ran straight into a little old lady holding onto her walker.She had three bags of groceries tied onto the handle of the walker.She didn't mind that we were in such a rush,she just smiled at our silliness!
We went into the store,bought the things we needed and prepared ourselves for another shower.That's when I noticed the lady was still there,waiting for the rain to die down a little.
''Would you like a ride?'' I asked her.She mumbled something about her walker and I told her I would squeeze it in the backseat if she just wanted to go ahead and get in front.
She did and I opened the back door to insert the walker.It was no easy task and I got thoroughly drenched.Finally I managed to wiggle it in and off we went.
Soon we found her house and I ran to fetch the walker out of the back seat.Getting it out wasn't any easier than getting it in.
Finally I handed the lady her things and off she went.My grandaughter laughed and laughed at the way I looked and that made me laugh.We arrived at church looking like we had been for a swim with our clothes on.But it was worth it.
I am glad I could be an example to my grand-daughter - and laugh about it too

果然,当我们下车跑到商店,瓢泼大雨呼号着从我们身边擦过,我们一边跑一边尖叫着.以至于在商店门口差点撞上一位拄着拐杖的老奶奶.看老奶奶岁数很大,个子不高,拐杖手把上还挂着三个杂货袋.尽管如此,可她好像并不埋怨我们的莽撞,仅仅冲我们笑了笑.
我们走进商店买了我们要买的东西,然后准备重新再冲回车里面.这时,我们都注意到老奶奶这时还站在那,她在等雨变小.
我过去问她：“要不要搭我们的车?”她对着她的拐杖含糊不清说了些什么,我告诉她如果您要搭车,我会把拐杖塞进后排车厢里面.
她进到了我们车里.可为了她那根拐杖,我用尽全力才从把拐杖后门塞到了后车厢,但最终发现累的满头大汗也只能把它弄弯才挤到里面.
我们很快就到了她家,本以为再拿出拐杖应该轻松许多,结果发现一点也不比往里放时候轻松.
最后我把老太太的东西拿给他并送她回了家,外孙女在车上看着我灰头土脸的样子哈哈大笑,笑的越来越厉害,最后我也被她们逗笑了.当我们到了教堂,我们发现我们就像刚从泳池出来一样,活像个落汤鸡,但我觉得很值得.
每次想到我能成为外孙女的榜样,想到我浑身是水的样子,我就很开心!
