A for me,an important first thing in my life was getting my driver's license.In Spain a person can do this at age eighteen.That's when I got mine.Being able to drive my father's car gave me the freedom to do lots of things.For example,I'm from Madrid and my girlfriend is from a suburb about twenty miles away.Driving made it easy for me to see her more often.Also,I was able to take weekend trips with friends to oyher cities.
B An important first thing in my life was travelling alone from South korea to the United States.When I was seventeen,I spent the summer in New York City studying English.I took a plane to the United States by myself.It was my first visit to another country and I was scared,but I learned to be more independent.I also made friends from other countries.Now I'm back in the United States and going to a graduate school!
