All structures are generally composed of two parts:the superstructure and the substructure,and any building must have a consolidus substructure which is the foundation of a building.The course design is to design the substructure of a frame-structured office building with a parking basement.It is proposed to select the silty clay in the third layer as thebearing/supporting stratum,and adopt the independent column foundation as the basic form of the substructure.On the basis of computations ofembedded depth of foundation,basal area,basal net reaction force,the maximum basal bending moment and basal reinforcement of the column corner and edge,and of checking computations of the basal bearing capacity,the basal punching resistance and the reinforcement,from which the substructure dimensions and reinforcements meeting the strength requirements are derived and the detailed construction drawings and reinforcement plans of the substructures are worked out.
