Dear Friends and Colleagues：
On behalf of the International Coordinating Committee for ICSEMIS 2012, I am honoured and delighted to welcome you to be a part of this truly global sport science convention,the largest of its type to take place in the UK.
The first ICSEMIS was held in Guangzhou, China in 2008 just before the Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Games. ICSEMIS 2012 is positioned to take full advantage of the world’s attention that will focus on the UK in July 2012. The Opening Ceremony of the London Olympic Games will take place on 27 July just after the Convention ends and we expect many Convention delegates to attend both the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The theme “Sport . . . Inspiring a learning legacy” reflects the knowledge economy that is served by universities, learning organisations and commercial interests throughout the sport science and medicine world.
We are aiming to attract delegates from every professional sector and academic discipline associated with sport, physical education, exercise, physical activity and sports medicine. All the main international and national scientific and scholarly association will be represented in the Scientific Programme.
Our Exhibition will showcase the latest in scientific equipment, expertise and publications for sport and exercise and will include live demonstrations and master classes associated with the delivery of sports coaching, teaching and scientific measurement.
We hope you will share our enthusiasm for ICSEMIS 2012 and join us in Glasgow in July 2012
