虽然知道C肯定错了,但是觉得D应该也不对.因为原文说They appear only in equatorial regions and generally do not form extensive interconnected networks.Instead,they are probably the paths taken by huge volumes of water draining from the southern highlands into the northern plains.所以D选项They are thought to have carried water northward from the equatorial regions不该是from the equatorial region而应该是through the equatorial region或者from the sourthern highlands吧?

再答： 水声是从南方高地向北逐渐变小, 并不代表水是从南方高地来的,而水仅在赤道出现,所以判断水是从赤道留向北方的. 对于这道题我是这样理解的, 要注意probaly, huge volumes, draining. 因为没有上下文,不知道这样的解释和上下文有无冲突.
