英语阅读题 On March 1, 2010, Chongqing Municipal Academy of Educational Science issued a survey on the situation of its middle and primary school students with Internet access.
Expert found that parent's attitude towards the Internet has great influence on students' Internet addiction. The more parents disagree with it, the more kids love it, and the possibility of them getting addicted to the Internet might be as much as 3 times higher.
Since last September, experts launched a survey of 3,200 middle and primary school students from 33 schools of 9 districts in Chongqing, and nearly all of them had used the Internet.
According to the survey, the majority of students were under 10 years of age when they first used the Internet, while in 2004 the same majority occurred in 12 year olds. In main districts with better economy, kids would have access to the Internet at a much younger age.
Most of the students surveyed use the Internet for entertainment. The survey says 71 percent of students watch movies and listen music on the Internet, 59.4 percent of them talk to friends through QQ and other software, 52.9 percent play games and 50 percent uses the Internet to learn. In addition, lots of students are searching information, writing blogs and shopping online.
Through the survey, experts found that 2.5 percent of students are severely addicted to using the Internet and can be diagnosed with Internet addiction, while 2.9 percent of students have suspected addiction. At the same time, experts also found that using the Internet in net bars leaves students more vulnerable to addiction than using the Internet at home or at a school's computer center does.
