a) Listen to the music and chant:Happy birthday to you
b) Let the students see the calendar and ask them to guess the use of it
Step2.Learn the new words and sentence patterns (20 mins)
a) birthday,date,month,January,February,March,April,May,June,July,August,September,October,November,December,date,birth,age,old,speech.contest.trip,party,event,an,festival,pop,concert,chorus,lecture,music.
(teach them the new words.Make sure each student understands the meaning and can read them.)
b) When is your birthday?My birthday is October tenth .
What year were you born?I was born in 1992 .
When is Leila's birthday?Her birthday is September 5th .
How old are you?I'm fifteen .
Step3 A task (15mins)
Show the calendar and ask Ss to read it out :There are twelve months in a year.Let’s see what they are.The first is?The second is?The third is …etc.
The second period (45mins)
Step4 (20mins)
Listen to the tape and do the exercises.then the teacher check the answer
