这段话的Thus后面怎么翻译好?那个assiciations到底是什么意思啊在这里是reader关于诗歌散文的联想还是诗歌散文的联系(诗歌散文的特质?）

前面说的是教师普遍断章取义,讲的东西没有字面意义上或者是历史意义上的准确性
这样的话在表示“意思”的方面,还是处理成联想更好
个人翻译：

如果处理成“联系”的话不太通,最多是读者对古代的诗产生联想,而古代的诗对当时的读者是没有必然联系的
