The treatment for the destroyed lung pleuropneumonectomy postoperative patients in ICU

Abstract:Objective To improve the treatment for the destroyed lung deduced by pulmonary tuberculosis of the patients who accept surgical operation in the ICU department,secure the patient from the operation,reduce the mortality.Methods:28 patients who suffered the destroyed lung by pulmonary tuberculosis have been selected to accept the surgical treatment,pleuropneumonectomy.All of them have accepted the intensive care treatment after operation:continuous monitoring patient’s life signs,the bleeding amount,the function of respiratory,the blood gas analysis; treating to the accompanied diseases; getting rid of sputum by bronchofibroscope; treating the acute respiratory failure by using ventilator.Results:through the treatment in ICU,20 patients smoothly recoveried.8 patients who accompanied the acute respiratory failure accepted the ventilator,NPPV,or PSV+PEEP ventilation,and they recoveried soonly.2 patients complicated infection and fistulae of bronchial stump,and one patient died.Conclusions:During the postoperative treatment for patients who accept pleuropneumonectomy,ICU department plays am important role in continuous monitoring and treatment,reducing stress,treating Acute Respiratory Failure.
