Dear Mr Huang
Please find enclosed Ping's half-term reports.If you have any questions about these or would like to discuss them,please do not hesitate to contact us.
We have had a successful start to the new academic year and have been pleased with improved levels of attendance;we thank you for your support in this.We see a clear correlation between disappointing progress and frequent absence and so your co-operation in not booking treats during term-time is much appreciated.We have also noted that most students are responding very well to our requests to contact us if they are delayed or unable to attend for some valid reason and hope you too will benefit from this sense of responsibility.
University applications for 2008 are well underway now and the Higher Education Seminar on Wednesday evening proved interesting and infonmative.The official UCAS 2006 deadline for applications is15th January,but applications are best mage much earlier than this to allow proper preparation for the January exams.Ideally,Students should aim to complete their applications soon after they return from half-term break.Mock exams for the January public exams are held from 26th - 30th November.Teaching,as far as possible,continues around the exams,just as In the real exam session,so please expect Ping to be tiredf
I cannot resist one final boast about pur Student Council.They arranged for the.college to join the Macmillan "World's Biggest Coffee Morning" appeal and raised an astounding £198 in just two hours.On their behalf I'd like to thank students,staff and tutors who gave so generously while congratulating the Student Council members on this very worthwhile endeavour.

I am very pleased to hear that Zhi Ping is attending classes far better this term.It really is making a big difference to him not to miss classes and to arrive punctually.Well done!
His level of English remains a cause for concern and I am aware that he finds this problematic,it is a shame because he is a capable student,held back mainly by his level of language.However,sad though it is,his decision to drop Economics in favour of Further Mathematics is well-considered and one that I support.
I trust that Zhi Ping will sustain his good record of attendance and persevere with his English.It is a chore for him but he will need a strong [ELTS score to gain entry to a university where he will thrive.He must not aim too low!
